New Year Resolution 2012!!

Happy Happy New Year~ It has been a while since i last posted, i hope i'm not missing my readers~ ^^

It has been a busier time since after i got my keys and things are getting so crazy!

Alot of things to prepare for house & the upcoming wedding in April, so i thought it means a new phrase of life and the more i should write my new year resolutions though i dun really keep to them =P

1. Say goodbye to work at 6pm.
Or latest, additional of minutes that i'm late.

2. Keep new house clean & tidy, forever!

3. Eat at home as often as we can!

4. Save $$ for our 1st automobile~

5. Sleep earlier..
Wake up earlier..

6. Better care of skin
aging in progress

7. Exercise regularly w hubby
jog at the park or a swim in the nearby pool

8. Plan my leave way in advance to prevent any unrecorded leave.

As far as now, i have started to plan tons of my leave!! ^^

Yeah, the 1st 50% explains how i feel. However, the after-vacation part is not the same. Tons of email have to be cleared and tons of work to be done. Therefore i serious don't like off-in-lieu and i love public holiday. Thanks deepavali for its arrival and thankful that hari raya haji is on a sunday that give the following monday a public holiday across the whole singapore. My users/clients/colleagues don't work, so work don't build up.

Since now is november, it is the usual season that my boss will nag nag nag regarding clearing leave, but in fact he started long ago.
I started to clear alot of leave just before the start of the new project, bringing the number of days to clear by december to 9 days.
Still as issue. =(

9 days to clear by December 2011
9 days to clear by March 2012
6 days to clear by 21 Apr 2012 (wedding leave)
Then, if i stay on in the same co
9 days to clear by December 2012

How to clear 9 days within 2 months when
1. Cannot take long leave >> scheduled meeting on monday & thursday morning (Project C)
2. Cannot take full day leave >> key user only works in the morning/half-day (Project B)
3. Afternoon are packed with clearing work (Project A, B, C)

In fact, the best option is to clear on afternoon (option 03), but considering that i cab to work, it would be a $$-saving if i take a full day leave. Haizzzz

Worse still the OT returns, not that frequent, but enough to make me feel sad coz i'm generally alone or with ah boy who OT becoz he got nothing to do even he goes home =S.

I want a good break... why work recently no low-peak at all? =(

Crap before Maid Arrives

MOM rejected my application for a maid becoz we use Joint-Employment Scheme.

Parties to blame
MOM - Inflexible
Maid Agency - not good enough w MOM Schemes

Some background information:

We wanted to employ a maid from myanmar to help us in day-to-day household chores. As i will be moving out approximately 6 months from now, i think that it will be better if we employ now so i have some time to teach her how to accomodate to our family life-styles as well as making her a part of the family before.

Therefore, after some research, i got into this agency becoz i like the maid 1st impression from the photo. Her CV/Resume/Bio-data seems to be what we are looking for. After 1 hour or less discussion with mum, we are ready to employ her.

The agency gave documents to fill in such that she can apply as a Joint-Employment Scheme for us. Currently, regardless if i'm the employer or my mum is the employer, we are entitled to concession levy due to my dad's age. However, this is no longer application for me if i change the address on my NRIC. Therefore the best opinion is to put my mum's name, but since my mum is not working, there is a need to submit somebody(which is me)'s income tax to proof our ability to employ a maid. So anyway, the in-charge in agency say "Can can, Joint-Employment!" WTH. Her lack of knowledge gives me more problem because MOM rejects my application based on the following rules

For Joint-Employment Scheme, both employers need to be working and the salary as an individual is not enough to qualify to employ a Foreign Domestic Worker

Then the stupid agency person says "But you cannot apply under sponsorship scheme becoz you are staying together!" WTH! Joint-Employment also cannot wat! You dunno say dunno, dun act smart, tell me you dunno and i would have called MOM to check before submitting the application, wasting a good 3-5 working days of waiting.

Anyway, now, the application is with MOM, waiting for approval. In such scenario, just apply under sponsorship scheme and with a signed-letter, explain that the sponsor is moving out of the house soon so would prefer someone(w no income) living in the house to be the employer. It has to be manual submission with the letter, and cannot use online application. For all scenarios that you are unsure, i suggest that leave a msg at the MOM website, and they will get back by latest next working day. Forget about calling them, their hotline sux.

Totally crap ass.

By the way, in case you are wondering why we din apply using Fixed Deposit Statements, coz it is a hassle for my mum to travel down to do the barang barang, so i rather settle for her. =)

Maid from Myanmar

Next year, i will be moving out from my current house. Part of "care-giving" policy, decided to get my parents a maid. They prefer one from myanmar, so now we pending for her arrival, Documents have been completed, now pending MOM approval and things to move forward. Personally, i like her from the photo, hopefully she will help to make things better at home.

14 Sep - Collect Keys Day!

Super proud owner of a happy unit in Natura Loft. Collected the keys, and follow FIL & MIL to do some praying before we go in. Mum came too, surprisingly stood there quietly and act like a passer-by. Some un-understandable steps in praying etc, but nvm.. just follow lor.. Hubby went back camp, while i went to buy some barang barang. Bought us a pair of matching slippers from Ripple, only to realise that i buy the wrong size for him. He say he is not size 8. =( must remember again, is 9! I even train down to ikea for my happy red dustbin. ^^

15 Sep - PM leave, SP Services is coming~

Finally get my water & electricity! Those who buy a dbss will need to consider that they should ask for a turn on schedule on the day they collect the eys, 14 Sep was horrible, no water, no air-con. 15 Sep was wonderful. i enjoy the cold air from the aircon and the ability to wash my feet~ *happy* And immediately, i bought a red pail with matching mop for hubby to clean the house!! *evil*

17 Sep - House Inspection + Gas switched on.

Very happy to have da jie & yan to help us on house inspection!! My house was like full of masking tapes with label after the day. Gas was switched-on on the same day and we finally had hot water coming out from tape. *happy x2* Dad came over to peek at the new house, BIL bought us lunch. Little Shannon was very happy running in the small but empty house. Godpa & Godma came over for a sneak preview too. Thanks everyone including yan's parent who gave us a lift home.

After 17 Sep (the day we submitted defects), we spent our time finding more defects and checking on old defects. Slam table is a very important step in this phase. Good luck to me.

Polling + Photoshoot + Ramen

A hectic month is coming to the end with listening to stories from the different candidates. In fact, i wasn't very concern about it. Read up before the day to vote and make sure i know how the 4 ppl were. As far as i know, i make a valid vote. It seems like i have successfully build a can't be bothered attitude such that i din care abt the election, nor the pre-wed photoshoot. The only thing that got me excited was the phone call on 26 Aug from Hubby that we are getting our keys in Sept!! =D

From Polling to my long weekend

27 Aug - Election

Woke up in the morning with a hungry stomach. Coz was OTing till freaking late the night before and din had dinner. Brother came and gave me buns but i wasn't in the appetite. It was polling day, so i took a ride in bro's car and went over the PS to cast my vote. went home to rot infront of the TV for a while coz i nv watch TV for long. Then went back and mug some korean drama before dressing up to meet Max 5 for BBQ session. I dunno if i'm suay or what but the 2 BBQ in the month failed due to the rain. so we had steam boat instead.

Pin bought Tea Machiato for us which makes me totally hooked over it.

After steamboat, we played games related to Chinese Language and it is damn funny. I love them for the fact of the similiar level of Chinese such that we can enjoy such games. And they gave me another reason to love them! They bought me a mahjong table and mahjong set for my bday!! *hugz* exactly what i need for my new house!! I hope yun will win with this set! =D

28 Aug - Bridal Fitting again

Bridal Fitting for alteration in size before the photoshoot. The lady was so nice to remove the 2 awful gem for me as i really dislike them. After fitting, i wanted Hubby to try Freshness Burger Onion Rings but only to realise NEX Freshness Burger is closed =( Wendy's does not look appetiting, so we ended up in Wala Prata, which turns out to be pretty good. *happy*

30 Aug - Preparing for Photoshoot + Mooncake

Last minute prep, do gelish nails, cut hair. The UV lights to dry the gelish nail polish is damn hot compared to the 1st time i do. I secretly suspect that it is gg to make my hands dark. =(

After mani-pedi, i met up with Hubby for a good lunch at Togi. At times i need my korean food replenish. I love Togi food, and i'm looking forward to trying Kim's one day. Since at that area,

Hubby & I went majestic restaurant to pick up some mooncake for my Godma. I seriously think Majestic Baked Skin Mooncake rox, but i cannot say the same for the snowskin.

01 Sep - Back to ZHSS

I was almost in tears when i see Mrs Koh. I din get to see her when i was back previously and is really happy to see her. Mr Choo increase his size by approx 50% from 10 years ago (Man in middle-age). After 10 years, i still see him getting beaten by secondary school girls. Wonder if he is M too. Ms Tan (bio teacher) has moved to another school, gotta email her soon to keep in contact.

02 Sep - Photoshoot

Am i the only bride who is not interested in Photoshoot? Apart from waste a day of leave, i need to wake up early, reach there to do my makeup & damage my hair with tons of styling products and curling tools. We had indoor photoshoot till 4pm, then proceed to 3 different places for outdoor shoot. Sis was so sweet to pop by with lunch and drinks for us. After the whole day of physical torture, i thought i will be really dead-tired but no. I reached home and cooked penne for Hubby as dinner ^^. However, that night i slept early and for 8 hours, which is very rare for a little sleeper like me.

04 Sep - Ramen Champions

A sunday that i woke up early but have nothing to do. I spring-clean my whole room while waiting for Hubby to have my 1st meal of my day, aka dinner. I decided to go for Ramen Champion at Iluma after reading tweets from kevin in the morning regarding bario ramen. Tried bario & tetsu ramen. i prefer the bario's soup but prefer tetsu noodles. As tetsu's gyoza is not my taste, i went in search for nicer gyoza and ended up at ikousha.

After buying the gyoza, a small incident happen.

When walking back to my seat, someone called me. I looked at the person and think if this person is from zhss, nyp, nus. Nope, all wrong. then i look at ppl ard him and got a shocked. And i walk off... T___T How on earth can i forget someone who i just saw few days ago and just msg like minutes ago? =( Damn paiseh after that such that i msg the person to apologize. especially for walking away!! I think i was freaky rude!! =(

13 Aug - Leaping Lizard

Leaping Lizard is the place i made my shoes for my ROM. I love how comfy it is such that i dun really mind the cost. It was really worth while and pretty. Hubby went down with me to the shop coz i wanted to make a pair of shoes for work. However, to my horror, they have decided to fold the business and the last order was on 11 Aug (I was 2 days late). Upsetn & shocked, but nice Wendy (from the shop) let me order shoes!! I can't wait and i make one for wedding, one for work, and one for night activities (wedding dinner etc). 3 pairs turn out to be $800 with the 3rd pair being the most expensive. But it is all worth-while!! Can't wait to do shoe fitting!

14 Aug - Vegan Burger

Woke up early to cook to pray coz it is the 15th of the 7th month! By 11am, completed most stuff and get myself ready to go out. Was having a very lazy mood and just dress and go out w naked face.

Met up with shuhan for a simple nice lunch at Vegan Burger as a simple meetup ard my bday. Shuhan is really nice to accomodate to my horribly-packed schedule =). kkg went along and i would say the place is really interesting... Just that i'm carnivore. But this is really good once in a while =D

16 Aug - Walking back home from Boon Keng

Met up with ah boy & euxil for dinner at a teochew restaurant at boon keng area. Dinner was very filling and we decided to walk back. It was really a nice stroll crossing overhead bridge @ CTE & PIE. Ended our journey somewhere near kkg house and cab home from there.. kinda =__=..

17 Aug - Robinson Closed Door Sale

Who says we need to take leave for such sales? Make good used of your male colleagues!! We had lunch at Raffles City, and i pull the guys into robinson with me. It was great to have them queuing for me while i fight w the ladies at the Clarins counter. After i'm done, the queue is still very long and the guys were at mid of the queue. LIM went up to pick some shirts from lvl 3, which proves to be a good buy!!

19 Aug - Dinner at Prime Society

If you follow my twitter, you will know that this steak is freaky good that i really think i can never eat another piece of lower grade steak. I had white wine for a starter which was perfect, then steak with a bottle of wine. The meal is so awesome! The total bill turns out to be over $300 and the payer wanted to pay for the whole bill... *guilty*

20 Aug - CC Club

BBQ failed again. Heavy rain came and go. I prepared stuffed mushroom for pot-luck. Love beehoon prepared by ros's mum. Ros's sis have this bottle of alcohol which claims to be 80%. I finish half a bottle and i think i was more steady than ever. Hard to believe it is 80%. Finally get to see Jaemin Chairman and Molly unni (who i really like). It is so fun sitting near them coz i get to eat all the kim bap that Jaemin makes! Stories abt her young days and work are really very interesting!

August is my birthday month. To me is a month that is damn special and i seriously adores everyone who were born in August. =P Usually i will do alot of special thing in the month of August to make myself happy but working really makes the month sux.

Some summary from end July to start of August.

30 Jul - Mattress Sale + Mahjong!

Slumberland is my fav brand for bed & mattress. With recognition from the Royal Family, i have no doubt that it is good! Hubby like this $3k mattress which i think is too crazy to buy. We went to slumberland sale and OMG, it was a steal. The $3K mattress is seling for $1.5k. No doubt, we snapped it, and even bough a set of bed frame + mattress for my dad at < $1.5k (Queen Size). We seriously left the place super-duper happy.

Then i met up with Max-5 (Max-4 that day) to play mahjong at yun's house. Yun's luck still nv improve. I hope she can gain back her victory in my new house with the new mahjong set (details on the next post)

31 Jul - Sixter meetup!

My bridesmaid were damn fun!! 5 of the sixters met up. Though i have indicated that we will not meet unless all are available, but euxil was sick on that day. After small discussion with the maid-of-honor, we decided to proceed with it~ I'm so glad that the gers can get along with each other and we actually spent quite some time in the restaurant talking. Lovely bridesmaids, started on what games to play with etc! And also thankful that each of them willing to help me with some crappy chores for the wedding. Ain't i fortunate? <3

03 Aug - Birthday

Had to go back to work due to an important presentation. Lunch was bad, but thank god the gers in the office got me a small cake before i rush for the afternoon presentation. After presentation, LIM bought me a bday cake from Canele!! After some googling, i realise the cake cost $80!! very generous of him! especially when my boss suppose to pay but he say he will pay instead. i was told that he even eat snake to walk to raffles city to buy when we having presentation.

Dinner was at Todai but was nothing great. Though alot of variety, but i think the quality is average good. Hubby say i have a pampered tongue. So too bad, it isn't up to my standard especially for a bday dinner. I think i will skipped buffet and go for good quality food from now on.

Hubby bought me a cake from metrocakes *copycat*. Nice dark knight that was so good that my bro keep praising when he ate it the next day ^^

06 Aug - Bridal Fitting

As 02 Sep was the photoshoot, we had to go one month in advance to choose the gowns etc. In fact, there are 2 white gowns for me, one which i will wear on the actual day, while the other one for outdoor shoot. I won't say that what i have choosen is fantastic, but i think the actual day gown complements. The evening gown is in a gorgeous color, but the sequins & gems makes me feel very "foreign". But well, the lady is nice enough to let me choose another evening gown closer to my wedding date, as well as the tea-dress(coz i rejected the gua)

07 Aug - Makan with kanojo-tachi

A belated bday celebration for me. But afterall, i seldom pre-celebrate with ppl coz i love celebrating in the month of August to make August wonderful. Hop to my grandma place in the morning to give my godma her bday red packet, and i even got one in return. ^^ Then at abt 2:30pm, rush off to thomson plaza to meet the gers!! We had nice dim sum at peach garden and again conclude that dim sum is not for our age. We cannot eat as much as we does previously. The dim sum as usually is really good. I think i have came here with many of my friends with exception of Max-5 & poly-friends.

09 Aug - Shopping for more discount~

As August is birthday month, i get 20% discount or more for many of the shops that i holds a membership. Bought some clothes from espirit including some baggy shorts & 3/4 for home wear. Also bought some nice clothing for Hubby too! I love his pink-blue top & his V-neck T-shirt, but he dun like the V-neck coz he is not used to it.

Abit too lengthy so i gotta split it into a few parts....

Totally packed.

Before i go completely missing, it is time to remind that i'm alive. =P

I had alot of meetups since july and is scheduled all the way till sept.

This month i went for bridal fitting and will be doing it again around end of the month. Coz I will be taking my pre-wed photoshoot in starting of September.

September is also another busy month. Will be taking keys and doing inspection, follow by house renovation. Meanwhile will need to pack stuff that is to move to the new house. In fact hubby & i cannot decide what to throw away coz i have too much things!!

I have alot of stuff to give away. (e.g. DVD, collection of winkup, CDs) Maybe i should blog and see any takers. =)

Soon will be packing the winkup magazine, maybe kkg will be able to sell for me =D

Or probably some stuff i should bring to cash convertor? i even have a film type of camera. =S

Saw from online about a shop call shin yuu which offer japanese buffet at pretty affordable price. Hubby like the food, but i find it so-so. He thinks i'm totally spolit.

Hubby bday celebration - cake story

I ordered cake from metrocake which is freaking good! So good that i told hubby, no need surprise, just give me "dark knight" for my bday. LOL

I bought him "duke of earl" which literally suit him alot due to his liking for tea.

Each cake is place on a leveled box, where knife & cutlery were given,

Very thoughtful!! *BIG SMILE*

And hubby finally reach 30 years old which i'm pretty amused it. Feels like a different gen.

Last but not least i had my slice of the lovely cake. =)

Pray - Eat - Shop - Dessert - Drink day!

Boss lew always not around when we take pictures.

We met up at 1pm to pray at si-ma-lu. I was so guai that i took a bus, with thanks to all the ppl who entertain me in one way or another during the boring 40mins journey. I cannot take bus alone. Damn bored.

After praying, which wasn't very good, we took boss lew car to thomson plaza to eat high-tea dim sum buffet. All cannot make it for buffet!! *LONG SIGH*

Good that they seems to like the food, especially the prawns & veg i guess. Thanks euxil for the treat =D

After makan, boss lew decided to say good bye, but drop us at vivo for shopping. It was super bored to shop during GSS coz the clothes are horrible and cheap also not that cheap wat. In the end, we drag our feet around and ended up eating dessert

Best Lava Cake so far! But it is call souffle here, and cost $16!!@___@

This is quality, especially after i saw the pathetic lava cake from last night, i knew this is good. And with good cocoa powder. Yummy~~

After that, we were contemplating to drink at ktv, or drink at st james. In the end, we went st james, and clear off a whiskey and a moet

Moet after Macallan taste horrible. =(

I seriously enjoy myself alot that day with a bit of craziest and abit of crankiness. It was the company that make it good.

Best steak eaten so far

Ministry of Steak @ Serangoon Garden is my new fav steak place. Despite that the word "Wagyu" have been over used in the wrong way, the Wagyu steak in Ministry of Steak does taste good. At $39.90 and no GST/SC, i think the price is pretty reasonable for a good piece of meat. If eating make you fat, make sure what you eat is worth while.

As seen, i had pasta salad accompanied my steak. There are many options for side, where we can pick 2 (same as ROS).

I choose Onion Rings for side 2, which was quite a normal tasting rings, and i think fries looks like a better choice.

We each have a soup set, trying out the potato & tomato soup which taste "blah".. And i think the color tells us that it is horrible.

The drink, with little options available, i decided to go for "home-made ice-lemon-tea"

Where on earth it looks like ice-lemon-tea? In fact, there are alot of lemon pulp inside which is a mixture of nice & troublesome feeling. After some time, the ice-lemon-tea became

=___= dunno what it is.

Pathetic looking dessert. Glad it wasn't mine. Had a try, rather than chocz, i feel it is made from milo. =(

What is best to sum up a meal on a friday night? Obviously alcohol~

We had a bottle of awful wine @ Liquid Kitchen which makes me miss the red wine that i drank with Jason previously. That was real good one.

Nice chat... till close to 2am.. I wonder if we would have sit around if there wasn't a last order (which is weird for a friday night)

Re-visit Harry's for Lunch

Steak @ harry's is pretty good. but this round, it is so-so..

we had the soup at $6 -$7 dollar, but i think republic $2.50 soup set taste even better.

In fact, i think the soft-toast taste better.

A short side story to the lunch, the menu print $6 for the soup, but we were charge $7. I claim that a dollar back for each soup, but my boss probably felt unhappy. Time is obvious more precious to him than a dollar. =(

But i'm the type who is willing to spend bucks on a good meal, but nt a dollar on what i'm not suppose to pay...

Time to Migrate

Recently, there are more than 7 cases of ppl resigning around me. From friends to co-workers, I see them leaving and it gives complex feeling.

Issit the time for me to move to some other places? I have alot of messy thoughts, and i came out with the list below.

Reasons to stay

1. I need a GOOD new job.
I envy ppl who can quit w/o a new job. No matter how tough the work is, i can't say immediate good-bye. Having commitments that do not allow resignation w/o a new job is serious a rope on my neck. And at this point of time, i cannot accept a lower annual pay either, therefore i either need to find a good/high paying job or i have to stay.

2. Boss is not idiot.
My biggest worry will to be to have an idiotic boss if i change job. I heard of many stories on how horrible my friend's boss can be, or how mean their supervisors were. My side, so far so good. Most of my friends would have commented that i have a good boss, since he dun pick on me or give me trouble. (But he bully me T__T )

3. Work satisfaction.
From the current project that i'm doing. Though i know that the business knowledge is not very useful in the future, but at least for the moment i'm happy coz i completed some complex logic/

Reasons to migrate

1. Coz i'm in the middle.
Our co have 3 types of ppl. Type A, ppl who are damn good. high flyer. Type B, can do, can deliver, not the excellent kind. Type C, can't make it. I'm obviously a type B. In my co, the treatment towards A & C is better. Type A get all the advantage such as doing what they are good in and do not need to consider the deadlines of the projects. They tend to be flattered as a guru. Type C, since you cannot deliver in time, they will assign you simpler and lesser work. So who do the bulk of the work? Of course is Type B la.

2. Underpaid.
When a friend who grade is lower than me but pay is higher than me, i know i'm underpaid. Considering that i'm doing more work/responsibility than her but with lesser $$, the most i think, the more sad i feel. Though decided not to ponder on this, but fact is fact, i'm purely stating now, with no hard feelings. Does this means co policy got some issue?

3. Bad co-workers
In particular, ppl who appear nice when they need ur help, but treat u like shit or transparent when they dun need your help.

My colleagues tend to mis-understood me. For example:

I don't like to drink carbonated drinks
I don't like to eat carbo

The above are all false!!

I do eat vegetarian food though it is full of carbo carbo & carbo.
My fav dishes are like mock goose, mock duck, mock fatty meat, mock luncheon meat.

I usually don't do so coz i think they contains alot of MSG and is unhealthy. Moreover, i'm cannot live w/o meat.

MoS water anyone?

Usually when i plan my weekend, i will keep one day to meet up hubby and one day or 0.5 day to meet up with friends. For cases when it is 0.5 at night, i usually do not meet hubby coz it is too troublesome to meet for half a day if we do not have particular activities. So it will be "me-time". Anyway, i scheduled my Sat to meet up with VJC for a PES session. However, it failed, due to little boy's fever. Thus we postpone it to 16th, believing that he will recover by then.

As i was already out of my house, i make my way to the west side of singapore, such that i can have a meal with my in-laws at night. Dinner was at Neo Garden and it was seriously fun talking to MIL when she tell me stupid things that my hubby did when he was young. FYI, i seldom do stupid things. i do intelligent things that stupid ppl think it is stupid =P (just joking)

Sunday, was a day with of schedule. From lunch - meeting the financial advisor - movie - buying dinner from chomp chomp. Transformer is good. I cried again (and my brother laugh when i was telling him about it), I cried through 3 transformers and most ppl cannot understand. But nvm... i think it is ok =)

The next few weeks are pretty packed for me, so for anyone who wanna meet, faster snatch a slot k? LOL.

I seriously love breakfast that have eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, sausages, toast & mushroom & some salad!

Sometimes it is just so great to rot in the morning and eat all these for a weekend brunch.

I love Egg's Benedict too! Even though this is only of normal standard, but it is the nearest to my house to curb my cravings~~

Recently i'm watching GM Odore Doctor by Higashiyama Noriyuki (shonen tai). He kinda like to shout "FIRE" when he figure out the illness. It makes me giggle through out the testing of McD new's burger that day.

Anyway, the Chicken McGrill is not spicy at all. McSpicy is better.

Good thing about the launch of this Chili Chicken McGrill is that, twister fries returns.

It is really fun to have ppl who drink with you. Most of my friends can't drink much. When i say drink much, i mean drink to drunk or drink at least half a bottle of hard liqor or 1 bottle of wine. Glad to have these ppl who drinks and we had fun mixing the different type of weird drinks together. =)

Jaemin, who invited me to join CC Club, din come. =( I heard she went back to her mars, venue or jupiter. Hope she don't launch an attack soon. =P

Definitely looking fwd to the next outing!

I'm not trying to create a food blog here, but i just wanna show bits & pieces of my life. My life, includes 2 good meal everyday, so i think it would be a pity if i don't share it.

Had this ika okonomiyaki @ sushi tei last friday. I wouldn't say that the okonomiyaki is good, coz it is pretty thin with little vege and the favor of okonomiyaki is weak. BUt still edible.

Since it was a light meal, i had my goma ice-cream to sum up the lunch. It was good, i would say. Among all the goma ice-cream that i have eaten, rakuzen & sushi tei seems to serve the best on so far.

The day after annoucement of bonus, jason(aka aaron, aka ah boy) came to find me for dinner. Among my co-worker of the same age, i tend to get along better with euxil & ah boy becoz of some similiar and some craziness.

We had dinner at a Korean restaurant with nice ceiling but so-so & horrible food. Used to find it ok when i go with them during census time. either the food quality drop, or my taste getting atas.

After dinner, i was looking fwd to some ice-cream (becoz needa work the nx day), but ah boy ask if wanna drink some wine. Pretty nice to chill beside the riverside, so i'm on for it.

For those who follow my tweets, you would have know that my dad got stuck in the room due to a spoilt lock. Hubby & bil came down and tear down the door abt 1:30am and manage to rescue dad after a series of hammering. I was damn worried that neighbors will complain.

Now the problem is convincing dad to change the doors. which he is refusing =S

Paradise Group

I seriously enjoy food from the paradise group, with the exception of seafood paradise. The previous attempt of seafood paradise was quite a sad case due to too much sugar in a dinner. i'm prefer savoury than sweet for dinner.

But the rest are good. In particular, paradise inn is nice for a simple meal, and paradise dynastry's la mian is good!

If you drop by paradise inn, try their soup and coffee pork rib. I quite like it =D

Sweet Love

If you asked me how sweet love taste, i would suggest you try peach. Peach, from smell to taste is all sweet, tasting like how honeymoon love is like.

Of coz, that's not how love taste like. Love to me, love taste like burnt sweet & sour pork with a pinch of chili. 4 type of taste together but depending of which piece you pick, you get a chance of tasting one (or more) of the 4 tastes (bitter, sweet, sour, spicy). And of coz, if you finish the whole plate of pork, you will definitely get to have a taste of everything. Do note if you eat too fast, you will end up have plain rice with no "cai" at the end of the meal, which results in blant love.

Btw, pork take time to chew, so if you chew abit and swallow, you never really had a taste of the dish.

A back-dated incident

On 20 June, i had my 1st attempt of a front seat of a Lorry + my 1st attempt of a drive with my hubby as driver. His driving was fine. BUt it kinda freak me. Maybe i wasn't well-prepared and it came suddenly. Maybe i don't have enough confidence. Sitting on a lorry was fine, but the fear i had during the ride on BKE & PIE is enough that i can justify it as a mental-roller-coaster-ride.

Anyway, i reach home in one piece, and he, took quite abit of time to do the same.

I was literally shivering when i reach home, and had cold sweat that i couldn't bathe and couldn't go into my air-con room. Sitting in the living room, i got abit of an after-shock effect, but it was nth longer than 2 mins. Maybe i was trying to keep very calm during the ride such that i won't make him worry, thus i over-control my fear that cause the shivering.

Since so many days, i think back on that day and concluded some point.

1. I did not have motion-sickness with his driving, which is good for future
2. We need an auto-car if we ever buy one.
3. The fear was more becoz of lorry, and not his driving
4. I totally appreciate drivers like boss fou, boss lew, yan, 999 for their super-steady driving. especially boss lew.
5. Practice definitely make perfect. He has not been driving for like 3 months.

I'm looking fwd to my next ride with him, but hopefully is in a car, not a lorry.

Safety @ Work?

I won't say that this is my office but is a place i need to go monthly. i was ok when i heard about renovation being done, thinking that i will be in server room and generally no much issue. but the server room is also in a bad condition to work. while i was doing my job in the server room, there were bangs outside the room due to the renovation, and the construction workers even came into server room to do their job. At one point of time, i got abit freak out that i started to talk to myself to keep sane. Imagine abt 4-5 workers in a less than 5 sqm room with server racks & servers, and they sound like they are tearing down the room?

Then i had to walk through the debris a few time to go to the other end to talk to teh users etc. each time i walk past, i was praying not to fall. the 3-4 x to-&-fro probably gave me enough prayers to not pray for a month (but i dunno who i praying to sia). Some workers were painting or drilling when i walk past that i think i'm also slowing down their work pace.

Urgh... i hope the renovation will be completed by the time i go for my July job.

I got these from Candy-licious (i think) at RWS. I found them interesting but costly. A box like that cost $20, and there are only like 18 pieces. So each piece is more than a dollar.

As for taste, just 1 pt better than your normal gold-coins. But i think it is purely to impress. =P

I love sitting by the window when dining at ikea especially when it is like 5:30pm on a weekday. Nice to see ppl rushing home from work, while i'm enjoying my nice dinner. I'm know, I'm sadist.

Lim Wu Hua is one who will never argee to simple lunch. This is what i think. Coz all he ask me to eat are things like Jack's place, Sushi Tei, Tampopo, Marutama. Even Songfa, he can make us each eat > $10. Amazing, isn't it.

But when John and Boss not ard, i drag him to eat cheap lunch like Lontong! Haha~ i seriously love this Lontong coz the cabbage is full of the coconut & curry taste.

Some stores may not process their cabbage clean enough and we tend to taste a pesticide smell, but this doesn't! It is good! <3

One a week, my lunch kaki will suggest eating at Hong Lim. One of the kaki seesm abit crazy about crayfish that he always eat crayfish hor fun with no fail.

This is small size, and add chix. Cost about $7, after the price hike. If you are a crayfish lover, you most likely will like it. As for me, I'm not a crayfish lover but i think it kinda taste better that it was. It is a store many ppl patronise. Long queues during lunch, and one of my sis fav. Haha.

After Hong Lim lunch, we will never fail to go for dessert @ Dessert Hut. The boring guys always eat sesame cream with peanuts ah boling, as for me, i always change.

Crane Dance in RWS!

Who says no free performance in Singapore? During my staycation in RWS, i went for the Crane Dance!! Din got a seat at all, coz i reach approx 1 min before the start of the show, and by then, they restrict it to people with kids only. So well, i stood for the 5-10mins of free performance.

How is it? See pictures!

It is pretty nice i would say, considering that it is free, and end with fireworks. The kids was scared though, but the children seems to like it =D

Last thursday was my 1st attempt to have a breakfast gathering with the users. A friendly invitation from the current users, i would say it is interesting yet awkward.
Yes, i felt i was in quite an awkward position. As you can see, the food is nothing great, but i still swallowed abot 50% of the food and stayed through out the whole thing.

Felt better when take it as eat-snake. But yet 1.5hours of working time gone. =(

I feel very happy with such lunches. Lovely, tasty and satisfy. Even though it is just boiled gyoza, enough to make me happy.

Especially when recently i feel abit down due to the messed up work. I'm hoping to gain back the momenturm before the boss is back.

Tonkatsu Ramen

Japanese food is my all time favourite. As for ramen, i personally prefer the ramen base at tampopo, follow by marutama.

For tampopo, i love the tonkotsu-base (note the difference, tonKOtsu vs tonKAtsu), sinfully good when accompanied with a piece of Tonkatsu. Though i generally prefer my Tonkatsu with a tonjiru, but it still taste good.

Now this bowl of ramen is on discount. Why not go have a try? =D

Lift of Hard Rock Cafe

Back from a nice staycation between 10 Jun - 12 Jun. Despite that complains of expensive room, and high cost of meal, i think the rest are pretty fine.
It was a family trip, but it made me realise the difference in us base on stage of life and spending-focus.

Mistakes that make it a serious-damage for our wallet (skip below for non-ramblings reader)

1. June Holiday
As the 2 of us are comfortably with no kids, June Holiday is quite a peak & expensive time for us to have a holiday. Like there is actually an online promotion that offers cheaper room and with 2 USS tix, but it is for non-peak, meaning weekdays & non-school holiday. Poor chap like me should have choosen a non-peak room for a staycation as i have leaves to do so, and would be much cheaper. This is our 1st mistake.

2. Expensive Meals
Eating at a place that charge approx $80(after GST & SC) for 2 consecutive night is a killer to my wallet especially when it wasn't that good afterall. Though in the end, the 2nd meal seems to be paid by my godpa, but then it is something that i will never do. Seriously!

When you have kids, and no kids, your priorities are really different. And when 75% have children, we tend to follow the majority. Hubby asked if we can dine by ourselves. But to me, since come together, should dine together right? But then i can't help feeling abit sad in the end. Seriously!

After this, i learn that, the elder three can always go on holiday together. With kids of similiar age, their priorities in one way or another are the same. But not for me, therefore i will feel the pinch in wallet be it following their style, or after an equally split bill.

Please don't comment that i'm very calculative. If you force me to calculate, i can give work out a formula and tell you what i'm sad.

P.S.: Like i have warn in advance, it is pure rambling. It is best not to read, but if you have read it, i suggest you don't take it too hard. I think each of us should learn from mistake and the above are just my conclusions.

It is just like getting low pay and went to fine-dining w your friends. During fine-dining, you enjoyed yourself, but after that, you felt a pinch at the wallet. Your friends may have no issue, but not you. You can only afford fine-dining when you have groupons or only during lunch.

Just so simple.

Busy 4-5 June

Dumpling Festival is one of the most busy time of my year. 2 types of dumpling (ki & nyonya) to tie and usually is a big project of the year.
This year we finally ton down and tie lesser, but then on the same 2 days that is the dumpling-tying day. I had free tix (thanks to co & lim wu hua) to X-Men and a super-subsided pair of tix to Lion King Musical!!

The Musical is awesome! The grand opening is so amazing that i seriously understood why mayu say she touched to tears!

Personally i really love the conductor. I do not have music genes nor talent, but i felt that noobs like me tend to forget abt them. How many of you do look at the conductor during such shows? Well, i did. And i stay to listen to the last piece (when everyone makes their exit), such that i can cheer for them again once they end it.

Brilliant musical. All of you should consider watching. Even though i never knew watch/read about Lion King before, i really enjoyed it.

Dinner @ Hippopotamus

The red color of the hippopotamus seriously suit us.

Hippopotamus is a place we wanted to try after some disucssion. Becoz of bone marrow, i would say. I like bone marrow in the indian style, this is 1st attempt to have it in the French style.

I don't like it. Serious. A smell that i dislike. =( So bad that i try 2 times and i decided to give up on it.

There were complimentary chips & bread for us.

I din manage to get a snap for the chips with special thanks to the chips-lover XD

Strawbery Margarita

Overall taste is so-so. But I like the strong teq taste as compared to other Margarita.

Lot of strawberry bits inside.

Finally is main course.

My beef in general is not too good. Probably my expectation of the night is too high or probably i din choose the premium beef.

After the meal, we sat by starbucks till 2am talking about some stuffs and i ended up in tears. Too huge a difference in thinking. Glad to have a supporter that night =D

A day of lunch with different lunch partners

I have my own fixed lunch partners, especially when the other group love cai-fan and i really hate that. But on this day, i was abandoned, so i joined a third party for a supposingly quick fix, but it ends up not that quick either.

I had beef noodles that you see above. The meat is pretty tough but the soup is good. I practically finish the soup but leave pieces of beef untouched and probably 50% of the noodles in the bowl.

I had a set meal that comes with a super-sweet drink, that i gave up after 2 sip.

June Birthday Babies

There is only one June Birthday Baby who is the BIG BOSS of our site. He tried escaping the little cake cutting ceremony by taking leave on his actual day birthday but we knew it. So we did it one day in advance with this Nutella Cake from Polar Cake. The cake is pretty decent, i would say.

In case you don't know, we usually will have birthday cake cutting each month. I'm the in-charge, since i'm the RC Rep. And i have a sponsor who will pay for the cake =D

On the month which the sponsor's birthday falls in, either i will pay or like this year, the BIG BOSS paid.

I'm looking forward to prepare bday cake for the nx bday person coz he is a troublesome one when comes to cake. Haha. Is a challenge.

Hubby & I went Balestier to shop for lights~` =D Since we are at balestier, i suggest trying Boon Tong Kee, coz i heard of it raves, but nv have a taste of it before.

It is really a expensive chicken rice!! But i would say the appetizers and sides and pretty good!!

The chicken is decently good but hubby does not fancy, He is a "roast-chix" person. We order chix for 2 pax and it is like $10!! @__@

Chicken rice must eat with sambal kangkong!! It taste pretty good to me as it is leafy and have little stem. But too oily for us.

Their recommendation. Fried Tofu. Decently good. I like the skin outside but i feel that it will taste better if it is egg tofu. Too bad it is just simple plain tofu. Hubby enjoyed it, but i think it purely becoz he like products of soy bean. =P

My sis-in-law treat me to yummy wagyu on the last saturday of May. (Abit back-dated hor.. haha)

It is really good!! So good that i just concentrate on eating and din even take a single picture! Instead, before the beef is grilled, i took pictures of my fav side dishes in a korean restaurant! And the side dishes are refillable~ *yum!*

It is very interesting to go drinking with my siblings. For those we dunno, we have a big age gap. They are 14, 13, and 11 years older than me. In general, you can consider that we are from different generation. Gen X and Gen Y.

The night of drinking was bad for me, coz i'm nv a beer person. I'm totally cocktail and hard liqor ger + abit of champagne, red/white wine. If i were to have beer, i will prefer something super-dry.

I dislike the skin. Seriously. The pastry skin taste like some awful prata skin though the duck skin taste decent

The doneness is good, the sauce is ok. Tender beef in black pepper sauce is one of my love. Generally nothing much can go wrong if the done-ness is right.

I gotta admit my love for tampopo deli's dessert. The most commonly eaten is the cream puff, but i also love their chiffon, tea time cupcake & scoop cake. And of coz the lovely pudding. It may look normal. But the sweetness is just nice. I strongly recommend custard pudding, freaking good!

Retirement & Money

It may sound abit ridiculous in talking about retirement when i have just work for 3 years and that i'm just married.

NO. It is no longer ridiculous in this century. In 1980s- 1990s, FD interest rates are higher than the inflation, BOC even offer more than 10% at one time. BUt now, do you think saving in fixed deposit will help you to have a good retirement? Of course not right?

So now talking about managing finance, how should you do?

I'm not a pro, so i share what i know. For your reference only. And.. thank my best friend who taught me the basic of finance. *hugs yan*

1. Everyone should have a MSA Account.
MSA comes in many form. OCBC used to have a 2 year MSA plan with very good interest. POSB have their pretty standard one that is most suitable for Singaporeans who already have a POSB Account. Why do you need a MSA Account? To continue the other Financial Plans below, you need capital. Cutting a portion out of your salary to a separate account helps you build up a capital. If you think that you can do it without using a MSA account, i suggest you re-consider. You may have very good saving ability like saving 70% of your salary. But all these amount may be used for purchasing of house, preparation of wedding, a well-deserved holiday or even a splurge on a designer good. MSA help you cut a part of your savings for the future. When your salary is low, i suggest saving at least 10% (or better still 20%) of your Gross Income into MSA.

2. Buy insurance when you are young.
I bought my 1st insurance within few months after i work. Currently i'm looking for other good plans. I'm trying to make sure i have a satisfactory amount of coverage before i reach 30 years old. As you grow older, premium get higher. But sum insured is the same. Most of the insurance plans now have a surender value which is pretty good for us if we have plans to withdraw it at a old age. Most of such plans may require you to pay premium for 20 years, then you can continue to hold it to keep the money growing. If you start at 20+, the term will be due around 40+. If you don't surrender, and you withdraw it when you retire, it is a BIG SUM. =D

3. Do not put your eggs in one basket.
Currently, Investment & Insurance plan comes in many forms & shape. You can get from insurance company (GE, AIA, P...), Banks (POSB, UOB, OCBC, HSBC...) or even get a broker to invest for you. Personally i don't like to have all my plans in a company. You never know what will happen, when a company will folds, when a bank will declare bankrupt. Therefore, spilt your resource. Buy plans from different source. The only problem with this is that you do not have 1 portfolio to check on your total investment, but you should be able to manage your different portfolio. We may have an agent to help, but we should depend on ourselves.

4. How much is the right sum to be insured?
I do not have any dependant now. No kids, parent are financially independent. Therefore it may be abit silly for me to think sum insured, but i have plans to have kids in the future, so i have to think of them. In worse case scenario, i need to have enough money for them to survive minimally 10 years without me. Therefore, sum insured = 10 x annual household expenses. Take time to build the insurance, do not rush. As your kids start to work and are financially independent, you can start to surrender some of these insurance and get the $$ for your retirement. Therefore, do not take insurance that cannot be surrender. In another words, do not buy insurance that money can only seen after you die. This is utterly silly!

5. Get a mixture
Get Life Insurance with fixed term, get endowment for more saving, get investment plans to invest in bonds & equity. You can choose & mix what is good for you. Nowadays, there are plans that are investment + insurance, or saving + insurance etc. You may want to get pure saving or pure investment plans. All depends on your needs.

6. Study first
Apart from studying the market, also study your needs, your ability. Remember, buying financial plans is a commitment. Make sure you have ability to pay for the full term. Surrender during mid of your term will incur unnecessary loss, and in that case, you might have as well just put your money in FD. Study the market before you start, learn about forex, bonds, equity etc. Buy bonds when the economy is good, buy equity when the economy is bad. You need the neccessary info to start.

I hope the 6 points above help you get a kick-start (if you have not). And if you were to think that my dad or mum have already help me buy an insurance when i was young etc etc... oh please.. just grow up! Be in charge of your life.

Today is 1st June. The richest day of the month, right after pay day. But for the sake of a nice month ahead, do not over spent your money in the start of the month.

So if let say we budget abit, maybe instead of dining out this weekend, why not cook at home? If cooking is troublesome, how about just simple fried rice? Simple fried rice may sound sad to some of you becoz you have work hard and you wanted some good meal and sometime fried rice don't satisfy you. My suggestion...

Hot Weather

暑い！

The earthquake-less singapore have one seriously bad point which is to be hot 365days! Though that we may have the monsoon season, but the unpredictable weather makes me crazy. Last year this time, we have weird May-June Rain that cause Orchard Road to be flooded, but now it is like damn hot! I can't even wear any of my jacket to work, worrying of getting a heat-stroke..

But i love the picture above. That is taken during a super hot day.

I love seeing clouds like this. Remind me of the time when i was young and drawing clouds on drawing board.

Republic of Steak

I love this place!! It is a few bus-stop away and i always wanted to go as i always passed by the place when i on my way home. I went twice, both with my colleagues. 1st time i had angus steak, 2nd time i have pork chop!

Though yummy, but i think it taste better during the 1st time i go.

I had it with black pepper sauce. The pork chop taste pretty fine but normal. Half of it was tender, and the other half is tough. 2 pieces which makes a generious portion, not advisable for a lady to eat. I only manage to finish a piece (Though i'm a big eater!)

The sausages were damn good! There are 4 pieces and i finish all. It is so good that i wanted to ask if i can tabao. I think it will be very suitable for a morning breakfast with nice scrambled eggs!!

Every set comes with 2 side. I have tried pasta (soso), potato salad(pretty good), fries(how bad can it be), fried onion with potato (see below)

The potato taste very normal but the onions are heavenly. No taste of raw onion, instead just sweetness of onion that blend very well with the pork chop. I wonder if i can just order the onion by itself.

The next time, i think i will try cow girl ribeye. =D

Lovely Hot Sunday 22 May!

I woke up at 11am, by a call from hubby. Super stunned coz i was suppose to meet my supplier for goodies at 12noon at Bishan MRT.
So i quickly shower, make-up, click abit of game and rush out of my house at 11:40am. (Steady right?)

End up, my supplier reached at 12:25pm. Basket! I arrange to meet hubby at 12:20pm lor!!

Hubby wanna treat me to Taste Paradise, probably due to the guilt that he is going hongkong alone (though for work), but the taste paradise was fully booked, and table only available at 2pm, while paradise dynasty queue was like crazy, so i decided to try those japanese food at ion B4. =D

okonomiyaki. suppose to be good, hubby like, but cabbage too hard for me

Daikon that i don't like

Stupid me planned 3 activities on the same day forgetting about the dates. While my co have a free movie on that day, i arrange to meet the zhss gers in the noon for lunch. Pretty rushed day. (See previous post on lunch & movie)

Later in the evening, i meet up with my pretty cousin, evadne for dinner, gossip and chit-chats.

It was at itacho. The food is so-so. The fatty salmon sashimi was good though.

I decided to be a good ger to take mrt + bus home that day. Especially when i wasn't tired, and was in flats.

And what happen? I fell down, knock my bone and bled like hell.. !@&*^%$#@

Marutama Ramen - How do you eat yours?

I have been totally a fan of marutama. Thought i prefer pork bone base, i still appreciate the chix taste for a change.

It has been a case that we often had marutama for lunch. weekly, fortnightly or at least monthly =)

I love my marutama ramen with garlic, sesame and lots of chilli flakes. Like below~

Thanks to Natura Loft etc, i'm damn broke. So broke that i cannot afford a cup of good coffee.

But well, there is always McCafe. *smile*

I quite like the cinnamon-melt except that i can never finish a box by myself. Prefer to share among 2-3 ppl. I tried to have one by myself. Ate 4 pieces and gave up. Very nice, but too much is also too ...... eh....

Meetup with the gers~

Time flies and it is almost 10 years since graduating from Secondary School. Saturday, we organise a meetup coz we have not seen Delphine for a LONG LONG time.
We had our meals at Everything with Fries, relatively cheap, but it also mean compromising of taste.

My pork katsu with curry fries. Pretty dry for katsu. Maybe i expect too much. Curry fries was nice but nth close to fabulous

miya's har jeong kar with garlic fries. The har jeaong kar is flavor-ful. Better than the pork. Garlic taste is mild.

mayu's tandoori chicken with sour cream fries. Best Burger of the 3, but the fries is so-so.

Some miso nuggets. cannot taste the miso at all.

Food portion is very big, i din even finish the fries, ate half of the pork, less than a quarter of the bread. Good for guys, but bad for gers stomach. A place to go when you are broke & hungry.

I haven eat Fish & Co in the Fish & Co for long. Usually hubby will ta bao from AMK Branch to satisfy my cravings at home. That day, i finally pick my lazy butt to go to Glass House for a meal. Surprisingly, Fish & Co is not crowded that day. Perhaps it is lunch, but i remember AMK Branch is generally packed.

It was a day hubby need to work. Was suppose to be a lonely day for me. But well, maybe not. I went to remove my gel nails in the morning and got a fresh set of pretty nails

Ok, i admit, it was a copied design.. hahahaha. Go guess who i copy from. =P

The mani + pedi was from 11am - 1:30pm for me. Was suppose to meet HSBC Financial Planner at 2:30pm, so i had about an hour for a good lunch. Was crazily hungry as Froniterville was all i had for my breakfast.

Never a fan of shark meat, but i always patronise this stall when i go Tiong Bahru Market (Alternatively is the curry rice diagonally opp to TBM. It was a good combi to have fried stuff in the Lor Mee. Double the sin, double the happiness.

I haven seen such an old bus/old seats since graduating from NUS, as 93 is the only bus that i knew with such old design. Pretty interesting, but was only a 2 bus-stop ride for me.

After the meet-up with the Financial Planner, i make my way to buy Hor Fun from Serangoon North for my dad. At the bus-stop in front of Tiong Bahru Plaza, i met our NUS vice-dean aka Lecturer for CS1101X! He remember my name!! But the heartless me took ages to recall his name, and it was hubby who told me then i "Oh Yes! Aaron Tan!!" =P

This day is a money-saving day for me. Apart from the taxi trip back from Serangoon North (with like 5 box of food), i took bus & MRT through-out the day. I think i'm freaking guai!!

I finally finished entertaining a child. I was telling 999 that day that i suspect it is a fake account with someone trying to fool around. But nvm, coz recently work is light so i thought i would play around with her.

In summary, the email came saying that she is getting married etc and asking for some advice. Of coz, it includes alot of stories like her rich hubby-to-be or her migration to europe.

well well, when did i think something was wrong? a bride-to-be will never be asking questions from no-where. We all have very precise questions to ask. The 1st email seems strange, but i was trying to be angel for once.

Anyway, a child is a child. Finally broke out of her fake skin (properly due to puberty), and replying something crazy. Which also means end of the conversation. (I'm happy too, since new requirements for work is coming in which means i will be busy too)

In my last email to her, i said.
"Thank you for the entertainment. I hope your dream come true."

By the way, i'm really happy if she happen to be a hater. You know, you only get haters when you are popular & famous. Such things will not happen to a nobody. =D

I don't know why i having rough and sensitive skins for 2 night. Yesterday i had it covered with my foundation and nobody notice. Today i tried with BB Cream and it was pretty obvious by 10am. Sharks!

Now i'm contemplating if i should hit the drug store and get some foundation to cover up the redness of the skin. The redness make it look like red spot, hate it!

I wonder if the new sheet masks are giving me the issue. If yes, they are gg to get rubbish chute as their new home

13 The Friday - A Free Dinner

I had a very nice + free dinner on that LUCKY FRIDAY. Some background if you don't know, i always find 13 The Friday freaking lucky for me. Like this day, i had super nice lunch (See previous post) and even had a free dinner.

The boss, aka the daikon of the day, wanted to pay for a meal at ootoya. But the queue is very long, so i missed my chance in eating my basil chicken. In the end, we went Tonkichi, which is more expensive. =P

Tonkichi, is good for their Tonkatsu. I had to eat that, definitely!!

Refillable Cabbage

I love such cabbages, but i was freaking full after eating the tonkatsu and abit of rice. My stomach cannot take in a 2nd portion of cabbage at all.

After dinner, there was an attempt for dessert/ice-cream. The fact that ice-cream was suggested instead of alcohol, amused me. Can't help but keep giggling, and got "stared" at.

13 The Friday - Another Farewell.

I heard that it wasn't the last day for the ger. Monday is her last day. I wonder if it is becoz she is lunching with her team on the last day or they purposely choose 13 The Friday.

I'm not too close with the ger who said good-bye. Though said ger, she is actually much senior than me, be it age or working exp. I find her generally nice and we always say hi when we meet around the office, though we have no working dealings with each other.

Farewell lunch was at Pizza Hut.

Polling Day Off-In-Lieu

Ok, i know... recently is all back-logs. There are quite a number of things to post that i just wanted to queue my post up. Pretty boring to come in a day with 10 post and another 9 days with no post right? so might as well post one a day. =P

Last Monday, I stubbornly took my off-in-lieu as i worry getting nagged about not clearly my leave. Therefore, i took it on the 1st possible day. I don't care even if my poor co-worker have to lunch by himself. Who ask him come and poke me after GY lost A-GRC? i'm so tempted to tear his skin.

anyway, it wasn't any interesting day coz i just watch drama, drama, & drama...

But well, i feel i rest well, though the lack of water give me sore throat on tuesday when i return to work. Guess i really drink very little water at home, but alot in office.

That day, i havd my 1st and only meal around 5pm. It was a sinful-carbo meal. But it is so good that i had to share. =D

Cheese-Egg Prata. Very high in calories, very sinful

Extremely delicious potato. Comparable to the good taste of potato in ootoya!

Mum order chapathi and i keep eating her coconut. It was heavenly!! But of coz not good to eat it often. *Love <3 <3 <3*

Happy Friday Holiday

As most of you know, i seldom take leave. Apart from no money to go on holiday (due to my biggest investment in life), i also find it silly to work OT to take some leaves. It feels like not worth.

Anyway, last friday, i took a one day leave to have fun with kkg. It was since long we last hangout on a weekday.

We accompany miya to Japanese Embassy for her interview, followed by a lunch at Ootoya, and KTV at Cash Studio. I love Japanese KTV as i get a full list of japanese song except Kodoku no machi by kinki kids. And better still, we get to sing.....

I don't care if i sing correctly or not. Just have the feel and sing happily!!

After the happy singing, we went shopping, chinatown dessert eating, and then go for wine-tasting.

In fact, rather than say wine-tasting, i would conclude it to be wine investment talk.

Nevertheless, we still have lovely wine to drink.

I find that the wine offered will taste better with red meat. But well, how would you expect red meat in such an event. We have cheese to go along, but i think it doesn't blend.

As it was an invitation by miya's friend, of coz we will see miya's friend at the venue.

miya friends turn out to be pretty humorous and fun-loving too =D

and of coz, wine for everyone.

Wine investment anyone? Maybe not the right time for me as mention above, cash on hand is very low. Maybe one day. But now is tough.

Before leaving, we can't help buy admire the wine in the shop, especially after kami no shizuku is found.

Mental Betrayal

I actually wanted to write my friend's story here. But i gave up after a while. i find that it is really hard to describe her story in words, coz i have no writing ability to display her sadness and betrayal.

In general, let me write some thoughts in summary.

All the while, i felt that adultery is a physical thing. But now i realise that, mental betrayal can be so much hurting to another person. He may still seems to be a doting husband and father to her and their children, but in fact he did not realise the hurt the wife is getting. (And she is refusing to tell him that she is aware)

The Woman, young, pretty and single. Why would you choose a married man?
Do you not have friends to confide in?
Do you not have friends to share your happiness?
Do you not have friends to listen to your sorrows?
Why do you need a married man to comfort you?

I have many close guy friends who are married. But i know how to draw the line.

1. Dinner are always in groups.
2. Never ask them for personal favors that are of nothing serious.
3. Never treat guys who are married as butlers (Yes, i do treat some of my guys friends as butlers, but not for the married one)
4. Never spend a dollar from a married man.
5. Never invade into his family time
6. Always remember that he is not only your friend, but also a husband of another woman. Your actions may hurt the other woman.

I have no idea why she sticks to him like a glue.
Does she loves him or does she just want some fun?
Is she lonely and just wan some company?
Woman, I tried to think of reasons for you, but i fail.

Man, for goodness sake. No one say you cannot have friends after marriage. But don't you ever think that this is not considered as cheating. You try your mental betrayal, your wife will do something greater.

Signs of mental betrayal.
1. Using mobile or chatting device to keep in contact with one particular person at all time.
2. Physically with you but brain/heart forever elsewhere
3. Holding on to the mobile, chatting device 24/7 (sleep, eat, shit, bathe)
4. Tend to smile out of no reason while staring at some technology device (iPhone, PC)
5. Very secretive when msging that one particular person.
6. (For iPhone users only) Disable Push Notification, yet constant checking the phone.

Sum up GE2011

It has been 35 hours since all the Election Results were released. This shall be my last post regarding GE2011.

During the announcement of results, i was fully active on the twitter. Apart from tweeting the upon the official annoucement of results, i also keep in contact with friends from the elections and keeping an eye on the TV about the speech given after the result release.

We finally re-write history. With an opposition party winning a GRC, we finally have 6 seats from the Worker Party. Reading through the GE History of Singapore, i realise that this was a great improvement. However, GE2011 Results makes me sad. Some final thoughts to close my mind from the GE2011/

1. The lost of George Yeo
Yes, i cried. To some, it make felt silly but he is one great man. Though some ppl may felt that he was snobbish at the begining, but i know he is good now, and he has changed. This shows that he can changed and he will change the government. However, he lost by 9.41%. No blames to the Aljunied GRC resident. It was really a good battle. Both Low Thia Kiang and Sylvia Lim are good politician and i truly believed that they will bring happiness to the A-GRC residents. Though said so, i'm really concern about George Yeo's next step. I do not want to see him missing in Singapore Politics, but if he goes for upcoming Presidential Election, i will also feel that it is a lost of talent. He will be able to make use of his talent better if he is a Minister or MP. With the lost of A-GRC, what is going to happen to him now?

2. 2 parties government.
With the lost of Potong Pasir SMC from SPP to PAP, and Mr Chiam losing the batter in Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC, we no longer have SPP-MP for the next five years. I always feel that NCMP and MP are very different due to the voting rights in certain issues. Having more oppositon voice in the government may be what we wanted, but i want different voices from different party. Now it literally down-graded from 3-parties gov to 2-parties gov, is this still a first world parliament?

3. 44,714 baka
Among the 2,057,690 votes this year, 44,714 votes are rejected. I heard ppl saying that they mark a TICK on the voting slip in the Polling Station that i went. Why are there such ppl? Cannot follow simple instructions? Maybe before reprimanding such ppl, our political party SDA is also having the same issue. In their early posters (one of the SMC) tighted to the lamp post, they actually asked ppl to tick beside their party logo. Oh dear, if the politician/party make such a mistake, i guess i cannot blame the 44,714 citizens. Afterall, it is a virgin vote to man of us.

4. An airhead
There is no need to talk more about the airhead. I do not know how much is her contributions to the grassroots. She may be good, as a grassroots leader. Then stay so. She is still a bit far from be coming an MP. But since elected, i'm looking forward to her great improvement (if any).

5. MP whose wife is US citizen
For those who followed my tweeter, my apologies. Today when reading the newspaper, i notice that his children are sg citizens. Seems like the old internet source are unreliable. Previously i read about the US citizenship of his wife & children on the internet and i concluded that it will be damn easy for him to get a green pass in the event of crisis etc. However, with the new information from the newspaper, i no longer know if it is easy for him to get a green pass. May he fufill what he say to the press.

6. Will the 6 WP MP tackle the existing issues?
With this new combination of the Parliament, i'm looking forward to the first Parliamentary Session by this new government. I'm wondering how the 6 MP will tackle the existing issues. I hope they put their focus on the issues related to the people of Singapore, and don't put all their focus on the minister pay. Seriously speaking, i don't care much about the pay part. If there is one thing that i'm concern, it will be the huge number of FT in SG. In fact, i realise this is one that caused the singaporean daily frustration when commuting to & fro the workplace.

7. Goodbye Mr Chiam, Hello NCMP Lina Chiam, Hello MP Sitoh Yih Pin
I assuming that he is retiring. I think the Bishan-Toa Payoh Battle is really a good one. I think this is one of the best way for his retirement. Lina Chiam's Potong Pasir fight was probably a small interesting story as compared to the A-GRC. But it is probably one of the most re-counted in the history with the results annoucing at 3am, 7hours after the close of Polling Station. with 114 votes difference and 247 invalid votes, i believe it wasn't a beautiful win for Sitoh Yih Pin. Many will still think and wonder about the 247 invalid votes, are they for Mrs Chiam? But well, Sitoh Yih Pin finally made it. His 3rd fight in Potong Pasir SMC and he finally won. I'm looking forward to see how he is going to change the Potong Pasir and his contribution toward the parliamentary session.

Hi all, today is Cooling Day.

No more rally, no more emotion break-down (for some ppl), no more scream & yell. Time to take a break and think of the one but BIG vote on your hand. Today, we shan't talk about different parties and the policy. Instead we need to talk about tomorrow.

What You Need to Know about Voting

Have you seen this booklet? I happen to see this in Thursday's TODAY Newspaper. I don't know where else we can get it, but it is really interesting.

Some summarise point for your information.
1. Get your polling card from your letter box. If you have not received your poll card by now, please visit your nearest Community Centre/Club to get a replacement poll card. Or call the Election Department Hotline at 1800-818-0088.
2. Polling Hours are from 8:00am - 8:00pm
3. Go to the polling station stated on your poll card.
4. Bring your poll card + NRIC/Passport
5. Avoid bringing bags to the Polling Station. Your bags will be subjected to checks
6. No smoking
7. Do not use your handphone in the Polling Station

At the Polling Station
1. Identify yourself at the Polling Station
2. Upon receiving your ballot paper, proceed to the polling booth to mark your ballot paper
3. Mark you choice CLEARLY with an "X" in the box-space on the right hand side, opposite the name & symbol of the candidate of group of candidate of your choice.
4. Fold your ballot paper and deposit it in the ballot box.

Voting is compulsory. Voting is secret.
