Friends etc - part 01

It started with me reading my cousin blog and thinking what was i doing when i was her age. The easiest way was obviously to dig out my old blog post and see what i have written previously.

But it does make me sad.. Coz it reminded myself of losing friends whom i once was very close with..

Therefore, i feel that it is amazing to be able to keep my bunch of lovely friends. Since i'm meeting up with yan today, i shall talk about Max 5 1st.

Liyan (Friends of 14y+ aka yan)

The two of us have alot of ups and downs. Was very close during Sec 1 & 2 but slightly move away due to difference in thoughts. Then we went on to different classes in upper secondary with different groups of friends and we remain as friends but wasn't as close as before.. But she is always there when i need someone to talk to. You know this is very amazing when you are in your teens. Most ppl are so self-centered (esp me) and you seldom find someone like her. Since secondary, she seen me through my relationships, breakup, falling-in-love, getting out of it without starting a relationship and till the day i got married, she is still around. When i got lost touch to meetup, she will prompt me. I have no common interest with her in comparison to KKG but we never have problem talking during a catch-up. She is one who i can tell my deepest secret to, and one who i meet up with not becoz of what we are going to do, but just becoz i want to see her. Sometimes i feel that this friendship is really a miracle.

Chang Pin (Friends of 12y+ aka pin)

When ppl say man & woman can be good friends, the 1st person i thought of is him. You know, we have never been in the same class, and i don't even remember how we became close. All i remember are days when we talk on the phone during school time and sometimes i even talk to his mum. When we say talk long hours on the phone, we exchange no lovey-dovey message, but if you ask me what we chat about, i seriously don't remember a thing. He is probably the only guy in my life who i went to watch a movie alone with and we are not dating. In fact, i enjoy watching movies with him. We will forever have the memories of watching JuOn on X'mas eve (or X'mas) with some ger behind throwing down some popcorns.

Peiyun (Friends of 14y+ aka yun)

I had my 17th, 18th, 19th birthday lunch with her. We became closest when both of us are the NYP and the rest of the clique were in JC. Separate life we lead with meet-ups with Max 5 during holidays. Among Max 5, i spend most time with her during the poly times. I think that she bring the fun to Max 5. Her reaction towards things will make us continue to make jokes and had a good laugh about it. With her around, i never fail to laugh utill stomach cramps when i go out with Max 5. By the way, if you never heard this before, i have once declare that if i were a man, she will be my ideal wife. ^^

Yan Hao (Friends of 14y aka boss)

Before pin comes into the picture, our clique is me + boss + yan + yun + kee + teck. 6 of us do our project together and had alot of fun. But in the end, only this 4 of us survive in this group, and pin join us. He is like liyan number 2 to me. When liyan is away from SG for 2 years and i badly need a listening ear, he came out and listen to me. Boss is a very humble person, no doubt born in a good family, he have never show us any spoilt brat characters and i even thought he came from a humble family util the day i step into his house, i was stunned. Nicknamed Boss, he is really Boss. He always bring us gifts back from his holiday trip and always drive us back after an outing. =)

Hello July~

Half a year has passed, have you done what you wanted to?
Usually at this time i would be counting $$ and thinking what i wanna do..

After i got my bonus, i drop a big amt (big to me) to my parents and left with peanuts to continue.

This time is great. Coz i no longer have to save for wedding or house. Thus my pondering started

1. Is CPF really enough for retirement?
Consider that i bought a flat at age 23, i would need to pay till 53yo. And at 53yo, i'm like 12 years away from the retirement. Retirement nest will be like so small and how am i suppose to survive? Therefore i dig out the retirememt plan that when i was 22yo. Oh shit, i need 1.2m to retire lor.. so now i'm like gg 27 thus 65 - 27 = 38 years to save. Using a linear algorithm, i will need to save abt 31.5k per year. This seems damn tough, so i change to a non-linear curve instead.. also need abt 20++ k.. =(
Nevertheless, this amount is important. Whether i need it or not considering about the Special Account in CPF, i still need some savings.. so gotta jiayou on saving without compromising the life i wanna live. And this means a pathetic result. I gotta find a high-pay-job. I'm looking for a job with minimum annual pay at 80k. Please reco if any (i'm not joking about the 80k)

2. Car or no car.
I really wanted one even though i cannot drive. Afterall driving is tiring that's why i hate to do so. But my hubby can drive, so he can drive me around while i enjoy KOI and music in the passenger seat. I'm looking at the list of 2nd-hand car but provide the hubby is working well. He is looking at a change of job and he is really working hard on it. But i can somewhat feel that the response of that job is bad.. shall i apply for that instead? If hubby fails to get the job, shall i go for it? But the idea of working at TUAS and 7am - 4pm with alt sat makes me wanna cry sia~ =( However if i get this job, i may consider 1)buy car, 2)learn to drive.

3. What is the next target in life?
I suppose to go for japanese lesson placement test last month. Coz the japanese lesson will start this month. Up till now, i have not went for it, and i'm utterly disappointed at myself. Haiz.. should make a phone call soon.

I start to wonder if i can live like the way my hubby & his siblings does. Have a simple life and ask for nothing much. In fact, the way i'm brought is not so simple. We were taught to look at higher points and move upwards whenever we can.. so it is going to be very tough when i have someone who is not moving with me.

Into June...

I have finally uploaded more honeymoon pictures on facebook.. was really alot of pictures and i'm still thinking how to sort them up before uploading. Apparently, my hubby dun cares abt sharing photos, so he totally leave it to me and now is his lala land.. 


June is finally here and i have not completed clearing the house (any volunteers?). I have yet to sort out the discs to give more space to the house. 


Last friday was a fun time shopping during lunch where i bought so much that i got a free luggage from laneige. =P a cabin size which i think should be pretty awesome for a short trip. 


Last night was a bad night. Daddy started his emo-ing. I'm praying damn hard that it will not happen to my Cinderella when he is old. If he really does, i'm gg to make him slip on his glass shoes and walk around SG.

We are now really taking care of our health starting from food. Avoiding dinner outside and stick to simple vegetable soup, or stir-fried veg along w some meat or fish for dinner at home. Rice is still available, but generally only hubby eats it. Breakfast we opt for fresh chicken breast meat as the sandwich filling and not processed meat such as ham. Once i finish all the processed food in the fridge, i will probably make sure they only appear like 10% of our household diet.

The good thing about having our own house is managing our own food. For instant, my mum gave us alot alot of food, but i can pack and eat over a period of time. In the past, my mum will probably force me to eat on the same day coz it is fresher~

Time for some light shows before sleeping. I learn to sleep earlier than usual. ^^

By thumb of rule, i try to keep to 2-3 weekdays to spend with my cinderella each week.

Calling a new flat "my home"

It may sound abit silly. But on the friday night after gg back from a date with MAX 5, i actually missed home. Missed my old home i mean. Coz on friday nights, i generally do not sleep early, may chat to wee wee wee hours with my mum and into bed after 6am(sat) and only wake up after the sun way high up & bright.

But busy really will help one to forget this. I kinda salute my friends who went overseas work or study for months or years. I guess they do miss home too, but i guess i'm kinda kiddish.

The biggest problem about marriage is accomodating another person. Mon - Fri, when no OT, no meet up with friends, i cook. Planning is very impt for this. Do not cook fussy food, and make sure food and be ready within 30mins - 45mins max. Sat - Sun, gotta go back my house or his house. When i request/suggest to go back on a fortnightly basis, my hubby will frown like a child who wanna go home right now. =( As a result, lesser private time after wedding, more "family" time.

Though said so much, hubby still gives me my private time. He knows that i need me-time, so he will give me my private time doing my web-stuff, skin-care stuff or drama stuff. However, i haven even start watching a japanese drama since back from honeymoon coz time is all spend on the taiwan variety. Maybe can catch up on some this weekend..

Sunday, we finally fixed up the outdoor shoe-rack. Alot more of touching up, deco and fixing to do. we are now ripping the VCD & DVD into our hard-disk so that we can have more space to accomodate my massive barang barang.. In fact, i can "proudly" say that i took over 90% of the storage space at home, and i gotta clear to drop the number 80% coz hubby makes me feel he very poor thing.. (and plus sales is coming)

So if you guys are interested to know when is house-warming.. I guess it wun be so soon. I'm hoping to have one by July, but highly dependent on when my wedding album is ready, i would love to share the photojournal with all of you.

How's marriage life?

Finally back to my essay days~ ^^ 


2012 is a real hectic year for me. So bad that for this is the 2nd post of the year. But if you follow my tweets, you still get live updates of me!


So finally, 21 April 2012 we finish the customary wedding. It was a dream wedding. I had the string quartet to play live music, and i have wedding tickets design by yun, custom-made angbao box by the gers, dessert bar and many many more awesome stuff~ i'm waiting for the pictures from photographer and will be posting up on facebook. 


After wedding, we had days of packing & packing for the honeymoon! I'm really really happy that we went europe and it was really fun~ more updates later and till then..


Meanwhile, it is alot of unpacking, washing and till i'm back on track, i will hold my house-warming~ ^^
