Merry X'mas & Happy New Year

left 2 days to 2011. rather than saying looking forward, i got a shock when i realise that i'm gg to ROM in less than 4 months. This is especially when i seems to be so un-prepared!! haha.. well, get the ring 1st then see how. haha~

i like the above photo even though i look like i have a square face. It was taken during the x'mas lunch on 23rd dec. Wanted to bring camera along but i totally forgotten. Shall do so during CNY team lunch. =D

i will be going to Nodame Live Concert on New Year Eve~~ *happy* Thanks miya for the discount tix. =D Baby is also looking forward and i guess it will be fun!! BUT! i just realise Chang Min Oppa (2AM) will be on TV that night at 11:30pm!! How to rush home in time?

Autumn Season drama is out and i think i'm ready to hibernate =)

Another year is ending....soon

Is the x'mas season holiday.. which also means ppl like me no longer have the working mood... totally in holiday mood. apart from that, another reason is probably the lack of morale due to the recent resignation of many colleagues.

I had to wonder if it was the co or the team that is the issue that making so many ppl thinking of leaving and leaving... I wonder when is my turn and whether i should leave.

I have to admit that the opportunities is the market looks promising with the recent improvement of the economy. But to find a place that can offer me a similar annual income in the 1st year of job-hop (due to the loss of bonus & benefits), it seems almost impossible.

Stay or Leave? What do you think?

But... i know what i want.. and what is my next step for now. =D

New Project!!

I was clearing my leave when i receives SMS that a new project has been awarded and we were like call back to office a few days later. This leave me with another 4 days of leave to clear by end this month (impossible) and 9 days of leave to clear by end March 2011 (Also impossible).

But well, busy is better than slack. For those who dun understand my work, i generally work like how a student study in NUS. Starting 2 weeks is pure lecture, follow by tutorials then test & exam. Lastly graduate and go to work.

As for us, we have requirement gathering (aka meeting forever), or transition meetings for some cases. After that we have design phase where we design the system, then we start to develop the system. After developing the system (aka coding phase), we will start SIT (System Integrated Testing) which we test by ourselves or get someone in the company to test. Next, the user of the system will test, which we call UAT (User Acceptance Testing). After UAT, the users will list the bugs we need to fix and we will fix and let them do UAT again. Once all is ok, we prepare for implementation and the system roll out. If unlucky, we may have to do production support.

How has this link to studying in NUS.

The first 2 weeks of lectures are like our requirement gathering. Abit of notes-taking here and there, but dun need to study so much. At least still can KTV after school and slack abit. (Requirement Gathering)

When tutorial starts, we need to get our hands dirty and start working, but still nt that bad(Design stage)

Then we will start to mug for test & exam, where we burn midnight oil, study again & again, the part we hate most (Coding phase)

Before exam, we do some past year paper to make sure we are on the right track, studying the right thing (System Integrated Testing)

After exam, lecturers will mark the paper (User Acceptance Testing) and if you fail the paper, you need to do study again (Bug fixing) and prepare for sup-paper (UAT
round 2).

Once all is ok, we prepare for implementation (prepare for interview to go society to work) and do production support (Start working, which is boring like hell).

THE SAD THING IS...

In our line, coding & UAT is the most time-consuming piece of work.

In IT, we
code > UAT > bug fix > UAT > bug fix > UAT > bug fix..
is the same as
study for exam > exam > fail & study > sup-paper > fail & study > sup-paper > fail & study..

Now i'm in my 1st 2 weeks of "lectures"... but i starting to have difficulties absorbing wat the "lecturer" is saying... May have to study at night by myself. =(

Another long weekend for me

I finally gave Cayden his blanklet on Saturday!! He is probably too young to understand and he almost tear it =( Hope he dun bite it and feel warm in it~ =D

It wasn't a easy weekend for me coz my niece was in my house from Sat - Mon (mainly due to high fever).

Sunday i delivered bento to baby becoz he was very tired after his training

That greedy boy, ask me if he can have it every week!! Very tiring leh!! I can see he seriously enjoy and i took a pic down but nt very nice to be posted.. =P

Monday was a super tiring day. The little girl fever went up to as high as 39 degree. Had to even hug her to slp during her afternoon nap..

The new project is gg to kick-start, so i pray that i can take my thurs & fri leave =D

Last month of the year...

As mention in my previous post, i was sorting my photos on Thursday night. Then i realise, i have not taken much photos this year!! My pathetic 2010 folder have only one album(folder) which is the universal studio! While i keep thinking that my camera is abit cranky, but it seems always to work properly with baby's magic hand. (i'm assuming he did sth to the cam such that i cannot take pic w other guys =P ).

So one month left~ i'm thinking of taking more photos!! Time to dress pretty and do good makeup =D

Last 4 days of Nov 2010 - Day 03 & 04

I was trying to sort my pictures last night and thus i forgotten that i wanted to take pictures of my shopping purchase to post online. Especially when the stupid esprit have to offer 20% discount instead of the 10% after our $450 spending during Day 01 & Day 03. Totally mad!!

Yeah, so anyway, Day 03 was a perfect day coz

1. Baby ate tons of kurobuta @ tampopo daily
2. I finish my top & dress purchase (lack of bottom, shoes, & bag)
3. We had a happy shopping day. Not just purchase day.
4. Baby went to buy dessert for me coz i craved for.. even though he needs to work the next day.

On Day 04, my niece Sarah came over my place to go knitting with me. Since PSLE is over, she is freaking bored at home that she decided that she wanna learn how to knit. Thus i take this opportunity to finish up Baby Cayden's Blanket! =D

I'm all ready to bring it to him this saturday, which is his bday! =D Love you Cayden!! <3

Last 4 days of Nov 2010 - Day 02

It was like one week after Pin's birthday. We went to boss house for a game of Mahjong to "celebrate" Pin bday. As you can see my beautiful "cards" above, you know i'm the big winner of the day. But well, no money was involved =( so the main thing of the day is dun be the biggest loser. Haha... Poor yun, cheating by max 3 for the 2nd time after the RUIN incident at vivo-city.

We bought him an addias jersey that he wanted. If you notice the red packet, it contains the receipt for him to do any size exchange if needed.

Yun brought me the goodies that i ask her to buy from Korea, pictures shall be posted another day =D

Last 4 days of Nov 2010 - Day 01

I had a really nice break for the 4 days. If you thought i went somewhere for holiday, you are wrong~ I was in Singapore, for all 4 days. But none of the days were rotting and slacking at home. I went out for all for days. It probably explain why i'm feeling tired now and abit sleepy... zZZz *yawn*

Day 01 is a Saturday. Arrange with baby to go shopping, so we shop shop shop.
During espirit shopping, Baby bought a Watch for me o(^o^)o

Lunch was a simple affair. We had light lunch at Tokyo sth Cafe at Raffles City

Among the 8 dishes, my favourite are pumpkin gratin, hamburger, grandma's vegetable. The rest are generally so-so. I dun like the Salmon & cheese & bread pudding was off standard. Nothing was awful though.

We relax with our drinks before continuing the shopping.

When walking towards Marina Square, baby decided that he is gg to buy Garrett Popcorn!! Haha... But the bad boyfriend din share with me at all. He brought home the whole pack... SO BAD!!

As Christmas is approaching, some of the christmas lightings are up. I personally kinda like the one at Marina Square. I like their colors~ =D
