When a Hong Kong telecommunication company merged with two other companies, one in Japan and the other in the US, the CEO of the Hong Kong company had to travel to both partners to have the document signed. When he arrived in New York, he had to take a taxi to find himself a hotel room and he had to arrive at the American company headquarters all by himself. After the signing, the American CEO bid him bon voyage A few days later, when he arrived in Tokyo a chauffeur-drievn limousine was waiting for him at the airport and he was driven to a luxurious inn. This was followed by a banquet at a fabulous restaurant and drinking and singing at a bar. The following day was spent on a guided tour adn a company dinner party of over 20 seniors executives. He was even accompanied to a high class geisha house by a PR manager. The paper was signed ceremoniously on the morning of the third day. In the afternoon, he was accompanied by the CEO of the Japanese company to the airport.
