With effect from today 15 July, i will stop mapling. Till after the mathematics placement test. Will be preparing for it for the next few days.

* Will mostly likely still pq for coming 8am, but only till noon.
* Will still go your place on sunday morning, but will leave in early afternoon too.
* Might go your place to borrow c maths book (maybe in the afternoon today) and relevant 10-years series tml.
Meanwhile, if i cannot complete 40% of the (simpler) syllabus by tomorrow night, i won't be going for Blogger.SG 2005 either. =(

1)We don't have the math c textbook, and haven't found anyone who has it, but will continue looking around for it, will keep you updated on this matter.

To elaborate, we assume your course is a 3 year course first. Any NUS degree program requires 3 type of modules =1)Program requirements aka modules of your major, 2)ULR (include breadth modules, singapore studies module and general elective modules), 3)Unrestricted Elective (UE)modules.
1)I can't find any place which says how many program modules you have to take, or how many UE modules you have to take. On average, you have to take about 88 Modular credit worth of program modules(computing modules are each about 3-5 modules).
2)ULR modules take up exactly 20 Modular Credit(MC). A 3 year course requires 120 MC in total. So the number of UE you need to take is 120 minus Program minus ULR.
3)The exact number of program, as mentioned above, i could not find in the computing website, but your orientation would inform you on the matter.
4)Singapore Studies is a module which all NUS students have to take, but there are about 20 SS modules offered each semester, so you just choose one SS module which interests you. It is recommended you take the modules asap.
5)Breadths are Cross Fac Modules(CFM). This is NUS way of making sure we are expose to modules from other facs.
6)General Elective Modules, known as GEMS, are a range of about 50 modules offered by science and art fac.. You have to take 2 gems in a 3 year course, usually 1 from arts and 1 from science. I'm not so sure about this, your orientation should cover this too.
7)Unrestricted Elective Modules (UE) are any modules you may want to take. They may be cross fac or in your own faculty. Completely up to you to decide.
So far, this is i think, all you need to know. During orientation, you will be introduced to the bidding system where the bid points are placed into program account and general account. We'll tell you about it only when your bidding nears.
